Single, Lesbian Mother of Twins Talks Blogging, Dating, Flossmoor
A single Flossmoor lesbian mother of twins talks about her blog, dating and living in our community in this Chicago Tribune report.

The Chicago Tribune recently published a story on Flossmoor resident Carrie Kaufman—a lesbian single mom of 8-year-old twin daughters and author of thegaymom.com.
Kaufman's describes her experience juggling solo parenthood and suburban dating. According to the Tribune's report, Kaufman says it's not the "weighty" subjects that she struggles with as a parent (politics, God, the girls' sperm donor), but rather the everyday tasks of grocery trips and bedtime difficulties become extra difficult without a partner's help.
Kaufman also talks about her experience as a single, lesbian mother living in Flossmoor and the generally positive reactions she gets from community members, according to the Tribune.

"While there may be some people who deal with me at arm's length, there are a lot of really good people here who are not homophobic," said Kaufman. "It's a community of academics and doctors and lawyers who are pretty open-minded. It occurred to me that 20 years ago, I wouldn't necessarily be able to live here with my kids."
