TUESDAY, JAN. 5

DUI, Illegal Transportation of Open Alcohol

Daron Roberts, 46, of the 14800 block of Atlantic Avenue, Dolton, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of open alcohol and failure to signal after a Jan. 5 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.

Police pulled over Roberts at about 2:20 a.m. for failing to signal a turn at the intersection of Governors Highway and 183rd Street and for swerving in and out of his lane, the report stated.

During the stop, police noticed Roberts’s eyes were bloodshot, and an odor of alcohol could be detected on his breath, the report stated. Several open bottles of alcoholic beverages also could be seen directly behind the driver’s seat, the report added.

MONDAY, JAN. 4

Stolen Car

Christopher Reed, 58, of the 500 block of Red Oak Lane, University Park, was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle after a Jan. 4 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.

FRIDAY, JAN. 1

DUI

Ashley Curtis, 27, of the 10500 block of Prairie Avenue, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, failure to yield right of way at an intersection and driving without proof of insurance after an early New Year’s Day accident at the intersection of Governors Highway and 183rd Street, according to Homewood police reports.

Police responded to calls of an accident between an sports-utility vehicle and a truck at about 5:26 a.m., the report stated. At the scene, police noticed Curtis’s eyes were bloodshot, and an odor of alcohol could be detected on her breath, the report added.
