Stolen Car Recovered In Home Depot Parking Lot

A Harvey man has been charged after police say a stolen car was found in the parking lot.

HOMEWOOD, IL – Homewood police say they recovered a stolen car in the parking lot of the Home Depot on Halsted Street this week. Officers arrested Anthony Garth, 28, of Harvey at 8:49 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 5.

Garth was allegedly the driver of a car that was reported stolen to the Illinois Secretary of State at the time. He faces a charge of criminal trespass to motor vehicle as well as a count of cannabis possession less than 10 grams. Police say Garth had on him eight grams of what they believe to be cannabis.

Police did not indicate from which municipality the car was reported stolen.
