Suspect Sought in Shooting of Woman Found in Car

Ramona Shelton was found dead in her car outside her home in Thornton Township last week.

UNINCORPORATED COOK COUNTY, IL - Police in Cook County are looking for a suspect in the shooting death of 37-year-old Ramona Shelton, who was found shot to death in her car outside her home in Thornton Township last week.

Shelton was found shot multiple times in the 15500 block of South Paxton Ave. at 2 p.m. on April 6, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities have said Shelton was last seen earlier that day at 11:35 a.m. at her residence, having left at that time to get lunch for the contractors working on her home at the time.

"It does not appear she ever left her driveway," according to a Sheriff's Office news release.
