
Three teens face drug charges after they were caught with marijuana in a parked car with the engine running March 20 in a lot in the 3200 block of 184th Street, according to Homewood police reports.
A fourth individual sitting in the back seat of the car fled the scene when police arrived and was not apprehended, the report stated.
Courtney Hodges, 18, of 2700 block of Chayes Court, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana and criminal trespass as the driver of the vehicle, the report stated. Jaylan Price, 18, 3200 block of 184th Street, and Rayshaun Hawkins, 18, of the 400 block of Illinois Avenue, Glenwood, both were charged with possession of marijuana and criminal trespass as passengers in the car, the report added.

Police responded to a call at about 5:29 p.m. concerning a group of individuals in a car who were sitting in a parking lot, “doing drugs,” the report stated. When the officer approached the vehicle, he could smell a strong odor of pot coming from it, the report added.
An unidentified back-seat passenger then opened his car door and fled the scene on foot, the report stated. The responding officer and backup units chased after him, but he eventually eluded them, the report added.

An inventory of the car recovered a small, clear, plastic container holding 2.2 grams of a leafy, green substance suspected to be pot, the report stated.
