MONDAY, APRIL 6

Possession of Controlled Substance, Transportation of Open Alcohol

Jorge Leon Diaz, 20, of West Hickory Street, Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with illegal transportation of open alcohol, possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a rear registration light after an April 6 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.

Diaz was stopped at about 1:11 a.m., near Halsted Avenue and 187th Street, when police noticed he was driving without a rear plate light, the report stated. Details concerning the rest of the stop have been redacted from the police report.

Unlawful Use of a Weapon

Andre Parish Harris, 24, of the 15500 block of Maryland Avenue, Dolton, was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon, driving with a suspended license, driving without proof of insurance and driving without front registration plate after an April 4 traffic stop, according to Homewood police reports.

Harris was pulled over at about 2:01 p.m., when police noticed he was driving without a front plate in the 19000 block of Dixie Highway, the report stated. During the stop, Hayes said his vehicle wasn’t insured, and a computer name check revealed his license had been suspended, the report added.

A search of Harris’s person uncovered a retractable baton in his left pants pocket, the report stated. Hayes was then taken into custody, the report added.
