Unlocked Cars Targeted In Flossmoor Burglaries
Flossmoor police are investigating several reports of car burglaries in the village.

FLOSSMOOR, IL -- A series of car burglaries have been reported in Flossmoor in recent days. In all cases, the vehicles appeared to have been left unlocked and there were no signs of forced entry according to a news release from the Flossmoor Police Department.
All reports were made when residents awoke to find their vehicles had been entered and property stolen during the overnight hours. Police have released a surveillance image (pictured) of a suspect in the case.
These car burglaries occurred in the Heather Hill, Flossmoor Hills, 2500 Block of Braeburn Avenue and Brookwood Drive areas of Flossmoor, according to police. A vehicle was also reported stolen out of a driveway in the 1800 block of Quail Court.

From previous investigations, police believe the culprits park in a remote area then travel on foot, going from vehicle to vehicle looking for unlocked vehicle doors.
Similar reports were made last weekend in Homewood, according to a report from the Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle. Those alleged burglaries occurred in the 18400 and 18600 blocks of Marshfield Avenue, 18700 block of Highland Avenue, 1900 block of 186th Place, 18300 block of Martin Avenue, 1300 block of Hickory Road and 2100 block of Downey Road.
