Victim in Naperville Amtrak Shooting is From Homewood

A 45-year-old conductor from Homewood was shot on an Amtrak train in Naperville Tuesday afternoon.

NAPERVILLE, IL -- The Amtrak conductor who was shot on a train in Naperville Tuesday afternoon is from Homewood, according to reports. The 45-year-old man was alert and conscious when he was transported to Edward Hospital in Naperville after the shooting at around 4:45 p.m., according to a Naperville Patch report.

The victim was reportedly shot in the torso. His injuries are considered non life-threatening.

Police in Naperville said a suspect is in custody. A 70-year-old man from Wisconsin was taken into custody as he got off the train.
