Woman Accused of Shoplifting Vodka, Champagne 3 Different Times: Police

MONDAY, MAY 11
Retail Theft
Milton Scott, 20, of the 4600 block of Saratoga Road, Richton Park, was arrested and charged with retail theft and resisting a peace officer after an incident at a Marathon gas station, 2000 Ridge Road, according to Homewood police reports.

Scott was accused of stealing a $2.49 package of Hall’s medicine by a gas station employee, the report stated. No details were given in the report about why Scott was charged with resisting a police officer.
Stolen Car

Logan D. Basham, 25, of the 10100 block of Grove Street, Jacksonville, Ill., was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to vehicle after being found with a stolen car, according to Homewood police reports.
Police noticed a suspicious silver Kia Rondo at about 2:36 a.m., in the parking lot of a Speedway gas station, 18002 S. Halsted St., the report stated. A registration check revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen, and Basham was taken into custody, the report added.
SUNDAY, MAY 10
Theft
Corey Armstrong, 27, of the 18700 block of Loomis Avenue, was arrested and charged with theft after being accused of stealing a cellphone, according to Homewood police reports.
The cellphone’s owner told police she left her black HTC One phone on near the cash register at Buffalo Wild Wings, 17510 S. Halsted St., the report stated. Armstrong then allegedly reached over the counter, took the phone and put it in his pocket, the report added.
SATURDAY, MAY 9
DUI
Gregory Malak, 30, of the 18800 block of Ashland Avenue, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane use after a traffic stop at 187th Street and Gladville Avenue, according to Homewood police reports.
Police observed Malak at about 2:43 a.m., driving erratically along Dixie Highway, the report stated. During the stop, the officer reported that Malak appeared to be intoxicated and took him into custody, the report added.
FRIDAY, MAY 8
Retail Theft
Cynthia Brown Pringle, 61, of the 500 block of 14th Street, Chicago Heights, was arrested and charged with three counts of retail theft after being accused of multiple instances of shoplifting, according to Homewood police reports.
A loss prevention agent from Target, 17605 S. Halsted St., contacted police at about 3:04 p.m. after seeing Pringle take a bottle of Barefoot champagne into the restroom, where she concealed the bottle on her person, the report stated. Pringle then tried to leave the store without paying for the champagne, the report added.
The store also brought forward two other shoplifting allegations involving Pringle after she was taken into custody, the report stated. Pringle was accused of taking a bottle of Absolut vodka April 23, and a four pack of Korbel California Champagne and a bottle of Absolut vodka April 30, the report added.
