Flossmoor Woman Fatally Shot By Officer Had Knife: Police
An officer shot the 64-year-old woman after responding to a report of a domestic disturbance at the apartment, police said.
FLOSSMOOR, IL — A woman who was shot and killed by an officer Sunday afternoon in Flossmoor was wielding a knife, according to police.
Madeline Miller, 64, was shot after police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1400 block of Joyce Drive.
Police said Miller was shot around 12:15 p.m. after she met officers at the door of the apartment with a knife, WGN reported.

Miller was taken to Advocate South Suburban Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Flossmoor Police Chief Tod Kamleiter declined further comment on the incident, pending investigation by the Illinois State Police.
