My 9 year old has walked in Relay for the past two years and will walk again in 2012. Last week, she asked if she could write whatever she wanted on her personal Relay page. It was then that it occurred to me I had never really asked her why she wants to keep doing relay. I just had to share her 'Why I Relay' story - all in her own words.
My Reason to Relay
On April first, 2011 I found out my Aunt got cancer and I didn't want that. I told my friends at school about Relay For Life and that you can help people with Cancer by rasing money to fight it. So we started doing different types of sports at school and used a stopwatch and every minute we exercise we raise 10 cents and 1 dollar every hour and we got up to 6 dollars in 1 day! My friends and I want to give that money to hospitals so they can buy the stuff they need. The reason I walk in Relay For Life is to raise money for my Aunt, but not just my Aunt, I do it for all different kinds of people all over the world that need it! I love my Aunt and I saw her after she got done with the stuff she needed to, and even though she looked a little different I knew that it was still her, and just because she looked different than before doesn't mean that she is a different person and I still love her the same as before, not any less!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! here's something to tell ya... don't judge the person on how they look or talk just treat them the way you want to be treated! :)

On November sixth, 2002 my first cat Ramsey got Cancer and I can't really say that I was sad because I was just a baby, well I wasn't born yet. When I got older my Mom told me about it, and yes... I was sad! Then every morning when I woke up(I still do)think about Ramsey(my first cat), I miss him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
