We are reaching out to you because Huntley Fire Protection District is launching a community engagement process called Our District, Our Community: A Partnership for A Safer Future, and we hope you will be part of it.
Did you know The Huntley Fire Protection District provides fire protection and emergency medical services to over 62,000 residents in a jurisdiction spanning a radius of 55 square miles? HFPD proudly serves the communities of Huntley, and portions of Lake in the Hills, Algonquin, Hampshire, Pingree Grove, Gilberts and rural territories of Kane and McHenry Counties. Specialized teams and divisions include Fire Prevention, Training, EMS, Apparatus Maintenance, Hazardous Materials Team and Special Response Team. As our communities grow and emergency calls increase, we must look ahead to ensure Huntley Fire Protection District has the staffing, facilities and resources needed to continue delivering high-quality service to all our communities.
You (all residents) are invited to take part in a community-wide conversation that will help address:
● Increasing demand for fire and emergency medical services.
● Stabilizing funding for emergency services now and in the future.
● Hiring more full-time firefighter/paramedics to serve the HFPD community
● Recruiting and retaining qualified firefighter/paramedics.
● Updating aging facilities and equipment
● Training as emergencies become more complex
● Protecting large areas without a water supply
