The Huntley Fire Protection District Continues the Conversation About the Future
During our first round of Our District, Our Community: A Partnership for a Safer Future workshops, attendees were surprised to learn how Huntley Fire is dealing with staffing shortages amid increasing call volume while also trying to keep up with replacing front-line emergency vehicles that have doubled in cost over the last 20 years.
For our next set of workshops, we will build on what we heard from residents during the first workshop and explain how emergency services are funded today, what it costs to provide them and the financial challenges the district is facing. We will work to develop recommendations on how to address the rising costs of aging equipment and explore funding options to help with staffing, equipment and facility needs.
Join Us for Our Next Community Workshops
To make it easy for our large community to participate, we’ve scheduled workshops in three areas. The same content will be presented and discussed at each one, so join us for the one that fits your schedule.
Central Area Workshop #2 (12015 Mill St., Huntley) |
South Area Workshop #2 (12880 Del Webb Boulevard Huntley) |
Northeast Area Workshop #2 (9620 Haligus Road, Lake in the Hills) |
Residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the Huntley Fire Protection District, ask questions and lend their voices to recommendations about the future of the District. For more information, please visit www.huntleyfpd.org.
