District 158 Students Head Back to School

The last week of summer vacation will be a whirlwind as kids try to take in the last gasps of freedom while parents are busy getting them ready for school.

Huntley Patch gathered some information for Consolidated School District 158 that we hope will help parents get things ready for the big day.

School Calendars

The year begins Aug. 24 for grades 1 through 12 and Aug. 25 for kindergartners. Keep this link handy to find out about school holidays, in-service days and school vacations.

What Your Child Needs

A general school supply list is available on the district’s website. The district advises to contact your child’s school if you have additional questions about supplies. Keep in mind, there are several Huntley organizations that are raising donations to provide needy children with backpacks filled with school supplies. .

School Lunches

This year, District 158 has raised the cost of school lunch to meet new federal regulations. The cost for K-5 is $2.20 and $2.20 to $2.50 for grades 6-12.  The district provides school lunch menus on its website. 

Bus Transportation

District 158 provides parents with a code to use when getting information about their child’s bus route. Parents are able to determine that route here.
