Explosives Found Inside Georgian Place Home

An online video tipped off police.

An online video of a 14-year-old making explosive devices _ like M-80s _led police to a home in the Georgian Place Subdivision Thursday where the devices and other substances were confiscated, Huntley police said.

Police said there was no danger to the community or public.

Huntley officers went to the home located in the 10700 block of Golden Gate Drive around 1 p.m. along with Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) agents and the Kane County Bomb Squad to investigate after obtaining information about the juvenile’s videos, authorities said.

According to a police release, “officers located several substances and materials that are consistent with creating dangerous explosive devices.”

No charges have been filed. No further information was released Thursday and the investigation is continuing.
