This year, The First Congregational Church of Huntley is celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the construction of our church's sanctuary. The church was formed on September 11, 1852. On June 29, 1853 a church meeting was called to elect a building committee. In 1863, it was voted to proceed with the building of the new church. Construction on the sanctuary was completed in September of 1864. September 2014 marks 150 years of worship and fellowship in the "little white church" located at the corner of Church St. and Main St. in downtown Huntley. Our congregation has several special events scheduled, culminating with an Open House on Sunday, September 14, 2014. We invite all congregation members, past and present; and all members of the community to join us in celebration of this special milestone. Many more details will be announced in the weeks leading up to our celebration. To share memories, stories, photographs, memorabilia, or other items, please call 847-669-3691 or visit our website at www.fcchuntley.org.
