Flaggers Out in Force on Route 47

This week's construction projects include work on underground utilities.

This week construction crews will be doing work on underground utilities on Main Street, east of Route 47, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

IDOT’s weekly construction update warns motorists to watch out for flaggers and expect long delays as a result of that work.

While Dean Street reopened last week, the entrance of Centegra and Castle Bank, north of Dean Streets is closed and will be closed until Wednesday, IDOT said.

Work on the east side of Route 47 between Main and Kenneth streets may block driveways temporarily as crews work on sanitary sewers and water mains, the release said.

And, installation of the new streetlights on Route 47, west of Algonquin and Reed Roads, will continue so watch out for flaggers.
