Hundreds of Pounds of Meds Collected
Huntley police participate in National Take Back Initiative.

Huntley police collected 260 pounds of unused prescription medications during the National Take Back Initiative held Saturday, police said.
The total was 55 percent more than last year’s amount of 168 pounds of medications, Deputy Chief Todd Fulton said.
Officers collected the prescriptions drugs at the police station as part of a national program done with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, he said.

This year, police created a drive-thru drop-off location in the parking lot to make it easier for residents to drop off the medications, Fulton said.
