In other business village trustees considered Thursday:
- Huntley has an intergovernmental agreement with the village of Algonquin for chief building official and plan review services. Now, village staff is recommending an amendment to that agreement to include inspection services. Huntley Village Manager Dave Johnson said it makes sense from a financial perspective, since the village pays contractors more to fill in for inspectors than the village would pay through the agreement with Algonquin. The existing agreement has been successful, he said.
- Grafton Township runs the Senior Transportation Service, which provides bus service to Huntley area seniors, and is seeking funding from Huntley. According to the village, rider activity increased from 3,337 in 2010 to 4,041 in 2011.Huntley contributed $10,000 last year and the board will vote on a new intergovernmental agreement to fund the same amount this year.
The village board will vote on the agenda at its regular board meeting, May 24.
