UPDATED: Expect Long Delays on Route 47 This Week
The Route 47 road project in Huntley continues with the Illinois Department of Transportation issuing a warning to expect longer delays than usual.

UPDATED 5:15 p.m.: The Illinois Department of Transportation will close North Street, east of Route 47 in Huntley, for four days beginning Wednesday.
If you want to avoid lengthy traffic delays, you may want to avoid driving on Route 47 between Main Street and Algonquin Road this week.
Crews will be doing mainline concrete pours on Route 47 beginning Wednesday, Aug. 3 and will bring in large machinery, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation’s weekly update.

The work is expected to cause lengthy traffic delays, IDOT stated.
Drivers should watch for the installation of new streetlights along the Route 47 construction route and look out for flaggers, the update stated.
