New Strip Mall Proposed for Regency Square
Jimmy John's, Curves and Rookies among business that would come to town.
Udpate at 7:50 p.m. Curves is not one of the businesses in the proposed strip mall, the developer said at Thursday's committee of the whole meeting.
Huntley residents will get to experience Jimmy John’s freaky fast delivery under a proposal coming before the Village Board on Thursday.
Interstate Partners is looking to construct commercial buildings at Regency Square, south of Chase Bank. Tenants would include Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches, Rookies All-American Pub and Grill and Curves, according to the village’s agenda packet.

It’s a welcome plan for Trustee Pam Fender.

The board has a packed agenda, including discussion to decide whether to allow video gaming in the village and a Ryland Homes plan to build an active adult community in the Talamore subdivision.
Huntley, along with surrounding committees, are considering video gaming now that the Illinois Gaming Board adopted administrative rules for the operation and regulation of terminals, according to village documents. The General Assembly approved the Video Gaming Act in 2009 to fund capital projects like road construction.
Video gaming has been somewhat controversial in neighboring communities; Crystal Lake rejected the idea this week. Marengo and Lake in the Hills plan to allow gaming.
If Huntley trustees decide to allow video gaming, the board must pass an ordinance amending its laws to allow video gaming and an ordinance to license terminals. The village estimates the video-gaming terminals could generate $112,500.
Trustees will discuss the idea at the committee of the whole meeting starting at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 10987 Main St. Huntley’s meetings are available to view on the village’s website.
