The village of Huntley is seeking "photographs of places throughout the village and events that have taken place in Huntley," according to Huntley's Village Journal.

"We are looking for community photos of events, seasonal landscapes, etc. There is no specific theme for our yearly calendar," said Barbara Read, village management assistant.

Photos in the 2010 calendar included the Huntley High School marching band during the homecoming parade, a picture of the Huntley Area Public Library, a black-and-white copy of historic Huntley, the annual Huntley farmer'ss market, a picture of the pool at Stingray Bay, and photos of the village's gazebo.

Read said that photos in the past have been supplied by village staff, residents, and the Huntley Park District.

"There is no charge for the calendar, and each resident receives a calendar in the mail," Read said. "The calendar also serves as an annual report for the village listing programs and goals, information on the departments, and large, ongoing projects. We will mail the calendar out at the end of December."

Digital pictures can be emailed to mgriffin@huntley.il.us for possible use in the upcoming village calendar, newsletters and other publications. The village requests that contact information should be included with submittals.
