St. Mary Unveils Plans for Addition

Church approaches Huntley village board to start formal review.

is starting the formal process to gain village approval of its plans for a 32,567 square foot addition that would include a 600-person parish hall.

St. Mary Church is asking the village for an exemption of its parking requirements in order to accommodate a covered drop-off land for the new parish center, according to its plans.

Village staff said the church plans to have 532 parking spaces _  163 less than the village requires. A public hearing will be required for the change.

Trustees will vote next week to refer St. Mary Church to the Plan Commission to begin the formal development review and approval process.
