Eight scholarships will be awarded to students residing in the 64th State House District who will be attending state universities, including University of Illinois.

High school seniors and college students living in 64th State House District are invited to apply for a General Assembly Scholarship from state Rep. Michael Tryon’s district office.

The application is available at www.michaeltryon.com. The General Assembly Scholarship program awards eight one-year, tuition-only scholarships to the University of Illinois or other Illinois public university. An independent scholarship committee judges the applications.

“It is wonderful to be able to promote our state university system and reward some of our bright young adults for their hard work,” said Tryon, R-Crystal Lake. “This is one of the most fulfilling jobs I have as a state legislator.”
