Woman Accused of Striking Officer

A 30-year-old woman was arrested Feb. 11 on a charge of striking a police officer, Huntley police said.

Raquel M. Ferrante-Martell, 30, of 11185 Fleetwood St., was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting a peace officer, according to reports.  

Ferrante-Martell was transported to McHenry County jail to await bond call.

In other reports released this week:

-Two 17-year-old males were charged with possession of tobacco by a minor Feb. 7.  Both juveniles were released with a notice to appear in McHenry County Court on March 14.

-A retail theft report was taken at a business in the 13200 block of Village Green Feb. 7.  

-A female juvenile from Carpentersville was arrested for driving with no valid driver's license and was cited for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection Feb. 8.  The juvenile posted bond and was released to her father.

-Two theft reports were taken at Huntley High School, 13719 Harmony Road, Feb. 9. An iPod touch and a cell phone were stolen.

-Frank A. Buffa, 33, of 8 Sweetwater Court., Lake in the Hills was arrested Feb. 10 on an outstanding Elk Grove Village police department warrant for retail theft. Buffa was released to the custody of Elk Grove Village Police Department.

-A theft report was taken at a residence in the 13300 block of Michigan Ave. Feb. 10.

-Two 17-year-old females from Woodstock were charged with retail theft Feb. 11.  Both females were released with a notice to appear in McHenry County court on March 14.

-A 17-year-old male from Brandon, Fla. was arrested Feb. 11 on an outstanding Hillsborough County, Fla., warrant.  The juvenile was transported to McHenry County Jail to await extradition to Florida.
