2 Robbed At Gunpoint On Hyde Park Sidewalk

Two people walking on 50th Place in Hyde Park Sunday afternoon had a gun pulled on them and gave two robbers their phones, keys and wallets.

CHICAGO, IL – Two people who were walking on the sidewalk in Hyde Park Sunday afternoon were robbed at gunpoint by two others who approached them Sunday afternoon, according to University of Chicago police.

The victims told police the two unknown suspects approached them in the 1600 block of East 50th Place at 1:25 p.m. One of them was armed with a handgun as the two "announced a robbery," police said.

Two wallets, two iPhones and a set of car keys were taken from the victims before the suspects fled on foot.

No one was injured in the incident, which University police have since turned over to the Chicago Police Department.

A description of the offenders was not included in a police bulletin.
