2 Teens Shot, 1 Killed Near Barack Obama’s Chicago Home
A gunman opened fire overnight in an alley just blocks from the president's home in Kenwood.

Chicago, IL - Two teenage boys were shot early Sunday morning in an alley just blocks from President Barack Obama’s home in the city’s Kenwood neighborhood. One died from his injuries.
The two victims were walking in an alley near 47th and Ellis Avenue around 12:50 a.m. Sunday when the shooter pulled up in a red minivan and opened fire, according to a CBS-Chicago report.
The boy who died was either 15 or 16 years old. He was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been identified by police.

The other boy is 16 years old and was shot in the leg and hospitalized.

The location of the incident is less than a half mile from the Kenwood home of President Barack Obama, which is at 5046 S. Greenwood Ave.
Secret Service officials monitor the Obama home around the clock and unauthorized visitors are not permitted to enter Greenwood from either Hyde Park Boulevard or 50th Street.
