2 Women Shot In Moving Car At 51st/King

One of two victims near 51st and King is in serious condition after she was shot in the shoulder.

CHICAGO, IL - Two women who were in a car on South King Drive near Washington Park were shot.

Chicago police say the women, one 36 years old and the other 35, heard shots and felt pain at 11:11 p.m. while in a southbound car in the 5100 block of King.

Both women took themselves to Provident Hospital.

The 35-year-old will be transferred to Stroger in serious condition after suffering a gunshot wound to her right shoulder.

The 36-year-old remained at Provident in stable condition after suffering a graze wound to the left leg.

No one was in custody initially, according to police.

Area Central detectives continue to investigate.
