Dvorak, who spent thirty-one years on the faculty of Chicago’s venerable Old Town School of Folk Music has carried forward the songs and spirit of the folk revival of the 1950s and 1960s into the present day.

“The more things change, the more they seem to stay the same,” said the singer from his home in Brookfield, Illinois. “These songs were born out of struggle and adapted to new circumstances again and again. And here we are again, hearing the rumblings of another war, while the wealth gap grows and disenfranchised people from all over the country and around the world, are experiencing food and shelter insecurity.”

"I’m really proud to have been invited to participate in the Music and Bites event,” Dvorak said. “We’re pulling together as best we can to help make a difference.”

"The past year has been incredibly challenging for our immigrant neighbors, from ICE raids to cuts in SNAP eligibility and increases in food, housing and legal costs. HPRP continues working hard to mentor and support our neighbor families as they work toward self-sufficiency." said Mike Weisman, HPRP board member.

General admission to the event is $20, $10 for students and $50 for star supporters. Sponsorships are also available starting at $250.
