Bicyclist Hit By Car At 63rd And Ellis

A man on a bicycle was hospitalized in serious condition Tuesday night after he was hit by a car in Woodlawn.

CHICAGO, IL - A man riding a bicycle in the city's Woodlawn neighborhood early Tuesday evening was seriously wounded after he was hit by a car. The victim, who police say is believed to be between 50 and 60 years old, became one of the first patients treated at the newly opened University of Chicago Medical Campus' trauma center.

The bicyclist was struck in the 6300 block of South Ellis Avenue at 5:26 p.m., according to police. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
