Cop's Head Smashed With Vase By Domestic Battery Suspect
A police officer was hospitalized after a suspect hit him over the head with a vase during a domestic call in Woodlawn.

CHICAGO, IL - A Chicago police officer had his head struck by a vase while responding to a report of a domestic battery early Wednesday morning in the city's Woodlawn neighborhood.
Police who responded to the 6400 block of South Kenwood Avenue around 12:35 a.m. said they found the victim, a woman, in the street and followed her to an apartment. When they got there, the man police say is the offender opened the door for the victim but closed it before police officers could follow her inside.
A police report on the incident also shows that the man struck one officer over the head with the vase after refusing to let him in. The officer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where as of Wednesday afternoon he remained in stable condition.
