Election Workers Locked Out Of Polling Place In Hyde Park

Poll workers had to scramble to limit the delay at Kozminski Community Academy to 30 minutes.

CHICAGO, IL - It didn't take long for reports of problems to be made at some polling places in Chicago on Election Day. In Hyde Park, poll workers were locked out of one voting place for about an hour before the voting booths were scheduled to open at 6 a.m.

ABC-7 reports that janitorial staff at Kozminski Community Academy near 54th and Ingleside opened the doors for the poll workers there at 6 a.m., when the polls were supposed to open to voters. That left little time for them to set everything up. Some told the television station that they were upset about being left out in the cold the entire time.

"Very disrespectful," one said. "What about the voters?"
