Emanuel Praises 'Unique Opportunity' South Side Has With Obama Center
Chicago Mayor expects millions of additional visitors once Obama Presidential Center is constructed in Jackson Park.

CHICAGO, IL - Mayor Rahm Emanuel called the eventual addition of the Obama Presidential Center to Jackson Park a “unique opportunity” for the city’s South Side.
The mayor spoke during an Obama Foundation news conference Wednesday morning officially announcing the South Side lakefront park as the eventual site of the Presidential Center and library.
“We want to make sure the entire South Side of Chicago benefits from this once in a lifetime cultural investment,” Emanuel said, noting that as many as 15 million additional visitors to the city will be expected each year.
