The teller took off a sweater, believing the liquid to be gasoline, and returned to the desk to give the suspect the money and a GPS device.

A University of Chicago police officer later saw a man matching the description near East 47th Street and Lake Park Avenue. Police arrested him nearby while he was in a white t-shirt and “out of breath,” according to reports.

Cash totaling $416 was found in his pockets.
