Lexington Homes Begins Pre-Sales for Lexington Shore Rowhomes in Chicago’s Hyde Park/Kenwood Neighborhood

Pre-sales are underway at Lexington Shore, a gated community of 20 single-family rowhomes in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood

Pre-sales are underway at Lexington Shore, a gated community of 20 single-family rowhomes in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood in the Kenwood Historic District, announced Chicago-based Lexington Homes. No stranger to building successful residential communities in Hyde Park, Lexington Homes – under its former name Concord Homes – first entered the neighborhood in 1999 when it started developing Renaissance Place, a community of 204 loft units, 17 single-family homes and 44 rowhomes, on the site of the former Chicago Osteopathic Medical Center.

“When you’ve been building homes in Chicago for more than 40 years, you’re bound to return to certain neighborhoods like Hyde Park because it’s constantly at the top of buyers’ wish lists as a great place to live,” said Jeff Benach, co-principal of Lexington Homes. “We’ve been waiting a long time to find the right piece of land and the right floor plans for Lexington Shore. And while our home designs have changed over the years, and we’re working with a whole new generation of Hyde Park buyers, one thing that hasn’t changed is our desire to build attractive, quality homes that offer everything buyers want out of a rowhome in this area.”

Located at 4639 S. Lake Park Ave., Lexington Shore will offer three-story brick rowhomes ranging from 2,216 to 2,507 square feet with three to four bedrooms, 2½ to 3½ baths and attached two-car garages. Every rowhome in the gated community will feature a trio of private outdoor spaces, including a rooftop deck, fenced-in front yard and a balcony off the kitchen. Base-priced from $399,990, the rowhomes are expected to deliver by early 2017.

Interested buyers can tour fully furnished models showcasing the Lexington Shore floor plans at Lexington Square 4, the developer’s fourth rowhome development in Bridgeport, at 3755 S. Morgan St., just 10 to 15 minutes from Hyde Park.

“Lexington has a special focus on South Side neighborhoods,” said Benach. “For example, we built nearly 100 homes in Bridgeport, including single-family homes and rowhomes at Lexington Place and Lexington Square, transforming the area into a family-friendly enclave. We are continuing to expand our rowhome communities throughout the South Side, with Lexington Shore as our latest offering.

“The homes we are building at Lexington Shore are the exact same as the ones we’re building at Lexington Square 4, so seeing the models in Bridgeport will really take the guesswork out of buying a home,” added Benach.

Rowhomes at Lexington Shore will feature a brick and limestone exterior while the interiors will showcase highly desirable features, including granite countertops, GE stainless steel appliances and 42-inch upper cabinets in the kitchen; hardwood flooring throughout the main level; and raised-height vanities with granite or marble countertops in all baths.

“Everyone who comes to see the decorated rowhome models falls in love with them,” said Benach. “Not surprisingly, our VIP preview list for Lexington Shore filled up quickly. In fact, we sold our first three homes just shortly after opening up sales to preview buyers.”

Buyers at Lexington Shore can choose from two plans – The Buckingham, which measures 2,507 square feet, and The Grant, which measures 2,216 square feet. Both rowhomes feature open main floor layouts with a living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen, powder room and laundry. The third level of each rowhome consists of three bedrooms and two bathrooms, including a master suite complete with an attached bath and walk-in closet. The lower level of each rowhome features a family room with the option to add a full or half bath and convert the family room to a fourth bedroom. Buyers also have the option to add a fireplace to the living room. In The Grant, buyers can enhance the kitchen island with a breakfast bar to accommodate seating for four.

“The rowhomes offered at Lexington Shore are designed to live more like a single-family home, with an abundance of outdoor living space and functional and flexible living areas,” said Benach. “The rowhomes have been particularly popular with couples and families looking for new-construction and/or maintenance-free living.”

Lexington Shore’s prime Hyde Park/Kenwood location offers easy access to Lake Shore Drive, putting residents blocks from area shops, restaurants, parks, schools, the 49th Street beach and the 47th Street Kenwood train station. The community is also in proximity to the University of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry.

“With its rich history and notably beautiful buildings, Hyde Park/Kenwood is one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in the city, especially south of the Loop,” Benach said. “It’s a truly diverse, culturally rich community bustling with students, professionals and families. Living in this area offers a quintessential Chicago experience.”

Sales for Lexington Shore are currently being handled out of Lexington Homes’ Bridgeport sales office at 3755 S. Morgan St., however an on-site sales center will open in late August at the Lexington Shore community. To learn more about Lexington Shore, visit www.lexingtonchicago.com, or call (773) 945-0777.
