Postal Worker Attacked in Hyde Park

CHICAGO, IL - A postal employee was attacked in Hyde Park Thursday in an attempted robbery.

Police say a black man between 35 and 40 years old wearing all black attacked the U.S. Postal Inspection Service employee in the 5400 block of South Harper while the employee was on route between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The attack was also described by police as an attempted robbery.

After the attack, the suspect was seen running westbound on Rochdale Place toward Blackstone Avenue.

The suspect is estimated to be 6'0' to 6'1," weighing 275-300 pounds with a beard.
