Victims Attacked On Hyde Park Streets

Police have alerted residents of three recent incidents of victims being confronted with physical force and robbed in Hyde Park.

CHICAGO, IL - Three people have been approached on the streets in Hyde Park over the past week and were robbed of personal property by offenders who used physical force, police said.

Residents of the city's 2nd District received a community alert regarding the three incidents.

The first was reported in the 5000 block of South Lake Shore Drive between 1:50 a.m. and 1:54 a.m. on Dec. 28. The next in the 1600 block of East 50th Street between 11:30 a.m. and noon and the last on Dec. 31 at 12:50 a.m. in the 5000 block of Lake Shore Drive.

In all incidents, offenders approach the victims on the street, demand and take property using physical force before fleeing the area in a vehicle.

The vehicles used are described as a green, four door sedan, a dark colored SUV or a white vehicle.

The offenders are described as black men between 20 and 30 years old, between 5'10" and 6'1" and weighing between 130 and 160 pounds.
