Woman Killed In Early Morning Woodlawn Car Crash
A 29-year-old woman died after a crash near 66th and Ellis just before 4 a.m.

CHICAGO, IL - A woman was killed early Thursday morning in a car crash in the city's Woodlawn neighborhood. Chicago police say the 29-year-old was the driver of a vehicle that swerved into oncoming traffic and struck another car shortly before 4 a.m.
The fatal victim was driving eastbound in the 6600 block of South Ellis Avenue, according to a Chicago police media notification. She swerved into the other lane and struck a car driven by a 32-year-old man, who did not report any injuries.
The woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Campus nearby with head trauma and injuries to her leg and ankle before she was pronounced.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office did not immediately identify the woman.
The Chicago Police Department's Major Accidents division continues an investigation later Thursday morning.
