Young Father Shot And Killed In Drive-By Near The Midway
A 25-year-old man was shot and killed by a gunman in another car while he was driving near the University of Chicago around midnight.

CHICAGO, IL — A 25-year-old man was the victim of a fatal drive-by shooting near the University of Chicago campus in the city's Hyde Park neighborhood just after midnight on Thursday. The man, who was reportedly the father of a newborn, was in his car near The Midway when someone in another vehicle pulled up next to him and fired several shots into his car.
The victim sustained four gunshot wounds to the head, left shoulder, lower right arm and right thigh around 12:05 a.m., according to police. He was pronounced dead at the nearby University of Chicago Medical Center.
Police say the man's car was stopped at the red light in the right hand lane at Woodlawn on Midway Plaisance facing westbound. After he was shot, police said he drove westbound on Midway Plaisance and crashed into a tree.

An ABC-7 report has identified the victim as Armani Harris, who was the father of a newborn and just got a new job and new car.
An autopsy has not yet been performed, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
