Officers could not make contact with anyone at the door of the apartment despite seeing multiple people in the apartment from the outside.

Officers eventually made contact with the apartment’s tenant.

Nabors, Allen, and a 17-year-old boy came to the residence earlier that evening. It was learned that Nabors was a family member of the victim. Later, Hall arrived with six more people.

At some point Saturday evening, Jenkins accused people of stealing her purse, at which time Hall began to fight with the male victim. The victims then demanded that everyone leave.

When the male victim tried to leave his apartment to speak to the arriving police officers, Hall pushed him back into a bedroom and refused to allow him to leave his apartment.

Eventually, two victims got outside and talked to police, while other criminal suspects remained inside and locked the door, refusing to come outside.

Eventually, everyone complied and exited the residence, and all were placed into custody. It was learned Pruitte had a parole violation warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections.

While police searched the apartment, Joliet officers recovered a 7.62 caliber handgun as well as ammunition. The ownership of the weapon is still under investigation, according to Sgt. English.
