10 Criminal Charges: Joliet Home Invasion Suspect Arrested
Joliet police booked 26-year-old La Raysheo Johnson of Chicago into Will County's Jail Monday afternoon. His bail is set at $300,000.

JOLIET, IL — La Raysheo Johnson, a 26-year-old Chicago man, was arrested Monday afternoon by Joliet police on 10 criminal charges stemming from a home invasion that happened Nov. 30 in the 400 block of Grant Avenue, on Joliet's east side.
Will County prosecutors filed their criminal complaint against Johnson last Friday, and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Johnson is accused of trying to strangle a woman he knows inside her Joliet apartment unit.

Johnson has been charged with home invasion, aggravated domestic battery, possession of a stolen vehicle, theft, two counts of criminal trespass, two counts of domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of domestic violence and criminal damage to property.
According to Joliet police reports, officers were sent to the 400 block of Grant around 3 p.m. Nov. 30 for a disturbance. Johnson broke into the residence to attack his ex-girlfriend, police said.

"Johnson had entered the residence by forcefully kicking down a rear door," police announced. "Johnson then proceeded to a bedroom where the victim was located and struck her in the head multiple times and pulled her to the ground by her hair. Johnson then threatened to also physically harm the children that were in the residence."
Johnson stole the woman's phone and drove away in her vehicle.
On Monday, Joliet police spotted Johnson driving in downtown Joliet with the woman's vehicle near Ottawa Street and Washington Street and that's when he was arrested, police said.
Will County Judge Art Smigielski set bail at $300,000 for Johnson.
Will County Jail logs show that there is also a temporary police hold for Johnson from the Bradley Police Department.
