10 Joliet Criminals Captured By Joliet Police Department: Chief
Officers and detectives from the Joliet Police Department conducted "Operation New Year's Resolution" on Thursday. Here's how it went.

JOLIET, IL — On Thursday, 10 people were hauled away in handcuffs by Joliet police detectives and officers as part of the agency's "Operation New Year's Resolution."
This cooperative law enforcement operation focused on the apprehension of several people with outstanding active felony and misdemeanor arrest warrants, Joliet Police Department spokesman Dwayne English announced in Thursday evening's press release.
Joliet police captured the following criminal defendants on outstanding warrants Thursday:

1. Veiker Amesty-Vargas, 19, of Joliet, on charges of aggravated fleeing/eluding a peace officer and failure to appear in court.
2. Cristian Ambriz, 21, of Elwood, on charges of theft, financial institution fraud, wire fraud and state benefits fraud.

3. Robert Bender, 68, of Joliet, on three charges of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

4. Joseph Brown, 30, of Joliet, on three charges of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
5. Martin Carreon, 55, of Joliet, on charges of burglary.
6. Calvin Conway, 35, of Joliet, on charges of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.
7. Julie Davis, 41, of Lockport, on charges of illegal narcotics and failure to appear in court.
8. Tayvion Davis, 19, of Joliet, on charges of battery.
9. Romeo Nance, 22, of Joliet, on charges of aggravated discharge of a weapon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault, reckless discharge of a firearm and obstructing a peace officer. 10. Maurice Robinson, 46, of Joliet, on charges of theft, financial institution fraud and wire fraud.

Sgt. English also pointed out that one gun and one previously reported stolen vehicle were also recovered during's Thursday's police initiative.
“I am extremely proud of the men and women of this department who came together and worked with our law enforcement partners to ensure a safe operation resulting in the apprehension of ten wanted suspects," Joliet Police Chief Bill Evans announced in his agency's press release.
Evans thanked the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force, the Will County Sheriff's Office, and the United States Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force for their assistance during Thursday's Operation New Year's Resolution.
Meanwhile, English informed reporters Thursday night that the people arrested on failure to appear warrants did not have a mugshot taken at the Joliet police station.
Also, Conway is incarcerated at DuPage County's Jail, therefore there is no mugshot, he added.
