19 Harley Riders From Italy Visit Joliet

The entourage visited Jitters Coffee House as part of their Route 66 historic tour.

JOLIET, IL - Most people around Joliet don't realize the city draws a large number of international tourists, but seeing is believing. On Tuesday morning as the Joliet Patch Editor was working out of the Jitters Coffee House a group of 19 leather-vested Harley-Davidson motorcycle riders, all from Rome, Italy, walked into the downtown Joliet business to get a cup of coffee. This was shortly before 11 a.m.

Most of the group did not speak English, but they were extremely friendly and polite. Everyone was smiling. They graciously agreed to let the Joliet Patch snap several photos of them outside Jitters to commemorate their visit to downtown Joliet. They said they were part of a Route 66 motorcycle tour group out of Chicago. Their tour was organized by Marco Minella, who runs the company Motor Bike in Italy.

In a couple days, the group plans to trek to Milwaukee for the Harley-Davidson anniversary party.
