Joliet Homicide Victim Found In Parkway: Police
The fatal shooting happened in the St. Patrick's Neighborhood Area of Joliet's west side.

JOLIET, IL — Violent crime across the city of Joliet has dropped substantially during the month of August. However, the Joliet Police Department is now investigating the first homicide of August, following an overnight shooting that claimed the life of a 36-year-old Joliet man. The Will County Coroner's Office said Sunday's shooting victim, Joshua Robinson, was pronounced dead at 4:04 a.m. at the emergency room for AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center.
"Robinson appears to be the victim of a homicide which occurred in the 600 block of Darcy Avenue in Joliet," the coroner's office announced. "The Joliet Police Department is investigating the incident. An autopsy performed today revealed Mr. Robinson sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The final cause and manner of death will be determined after the final review of police, autopsy and toxicological reports."
On Monday morning, the Joliet Police Department issued a news release indicating that Sunday's slaying happened at 3:19 a.m. on Darcy Avenue, which is part of the St. Pat's Neighborhood Area.

"Officers arrived on scene, and located Joshua Robinson lying in the parkway of a private residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds," police said. "Robinson was transported to Amita St Joseph Medical Center, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
"This is an ongoing investigation and is still in its early stages. The Joliet Police Department Investigations Division is actively looking into what occurred. Joliet Police will update the public at a later date when more information becomes available."
