Getaway Car Revealed In Joliet Township Homicide Of Nigerian Man

JOLIET, IL — The Will County Sheriff's Office announced that Sunday's first homicide of the year happened just 10 minutes after a non-fatal shooting inside the city of Joliet. Joliet police are investigating the initial shooting, which left a 42-year-old man suffering a gunshot to his leg.
The victims of both crimes are not related, and both shootings appear to be random, the Will County Sheriff's Office announced on Facebook.
Meanwhile, the Will County Sheriff's Office said the suspected getaway car was seen at both shootings. It's a red Toyota Camry with license plate Q73 0412. Joliet police and Will County sheriff's deputies were working on Monday to find the car.

"If you see this vehicle, do not approach the vehicle, and immediately call 911 to report the vehicle's location to law enforcement," Sheriff Mike Kelley announced on Facebook.
Sunday's Joliet Township murder victim was a 28-year-old man who came to the United States three years ago from Nigeria, the sheriff's agency revealed.

Will County Coroner Laurie Summers issued a Facebook update on Monday indicating the victim was a 28-year-old man from Joliet named Toyosi Bakare. He died at St. Joe's hospital.
According to the Will County Sheriff's Office, at 4:27 p.m., deputies were called to the Pheasant Run Apartments off of Pheasant Run Road in unincorporated Joliet Township regarding Sunday's shooting.
While deputies were responding to the scene, they learned that was someone was on the ground, bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound to their head, authorities announced.
Deputies tried to perform life-saving measures on the male shooting victim before the East Joliet Fire Department arrived and took over life-saving measures. The victim was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries.
