2 Dead in Plainfield Crash
A motorcyclist crashed into a pedestrian near the intersection of Lockport Street.

A motorcyclist and a pedestrian are dead this morning after a major crash on Illinois Route 59 at Lockport Street.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle, a 2007 Yamaha, was traveling north bound on Route 59 and hit the pedestrian near the intersection of Lockport Street.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Will County Coroner’s Office, the motorcyclist is 27-year-old Plainfield resident Sean Fitzpatrick. He was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet and was pronounced dead at 12:39 a.m. this morning.

The name of the pedestrian is being withheld pending notification of family.
Illinois Route 59 between Lockport and Main Street remains closed while members of the Plainfield Police Crash Reconstruction Unit investigate the accident.
