According to Joliet Police spokesman Dwayne English, the following events left to the arrests of Bailey and Lucas:
- Bailey and Lucas got into an argument at the store after Lucas entered the store and began acting loud and disorderly.
- Inside Walgreens, Lucas knocked down a store display and grabbed a bottle of laundry detergent, and threw it across the store, nearly striking the store manager.
- As for Bailey, when a Walgreens employee refused to allow Bailey to use the restroom, Bailey threatened to shoot the employee. No weapon was observed.
- While Bailey was arrested at the store, Lucas tried running away, according to English.
"A short time later, it was learned that Lucas was an occupant in a vehicle stopped by Will County Sheriff’s Deputies near Pinewood Lane and Manhattan Road. Officers arrived at that scene and placed Lucas into custody without incident," English announced.
