2 Joliet Men Drank Alcohol On Someone's Porch, Woman Asks Them To Get Off Her Property: Police
Officers were advised that both men became belligerent with the elderly female resident when she asked them to leave her property.

JOLIET, IL —The Joliet Police Department has made a pair of arrests in connection with a public right of way alcohol incident on the east side of Joliet that turned violent when both of the men resisted being arrested, according to the agency.
Back on April 5, at 7:35 p.m., officers responded to the 400
block of East Jackson Street for a report of two men drinking alcohol on someone’s property.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, both men became belligerent with the elderly resident when
she asked them to leave her property.

Officers found the two men seated on the sidewalk in the 300 block of Collins Street. Both were in possession of open alcoholic beverages in violation of a City of Joliet ordinance, according to police. During the encounter, Nicholas Rossow, 22, of Joliet and Joseph Green, 48, formerly of New Lenox, were belligerent, refused to provide identification, and used profane language toward officers, English said.
Green appeared to be intoxicated, the arrest report showed.

As officers attempted to take Rossow into custody, he resisted by pulling away and flailing his arms. During the arrest, Green attempted to stand up toward the officer aggressively, the police said.
"Officers redirected Green away from the arrest and took him to the ground. During the struggle, Green struck his head on a nearby pole," English pointed out.
Both individuals were then secured into custody without further incident. Due to a laceration sustained during the arrest, Green was evaluated by paramedics and transported to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department.

Green was charged with aggravated assault to a peace officer and obstructing a peace officer and was cited for possession of alcohol on a public way. Officers also determined Green had an active no-bond warrant for failure to appear in court on previous theft charges. After being medically cleared, he was processed at the Joliet Police Department, released on a notice to appear for the new charges, and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility on the warrant.
Rossow was charged with two counts of resisting/obstructing a peace officer and cited for possession of alcohol on a public way. He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and
released on a notice to appear.
Although the Joliet police listed Green as a New Lenox resident, in reality he lives at the MorningStar Shelter on East Washington Street, the county jail logs show. He was also in the Will County Jail in February, last August and last September.
