2 Semi-Truck Crashes Cause Heavy Traffic On East, Westbound I-80

JOLIET, IL — Two semi-truck crashes in opposite directions on Interstate 80 are causing heavy traffic Tuesday afternoon, state police said.

According to traffic officials, a semi-truck headed westbound on I-80 was blocking the left hand lanes of the interstate near Briggs Street as of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, and another semi-truck was in a ditch on eastbound I-80 near Illinois 53.

Heavy traffic begins at Interstate 355, Joliet officials said.
