East Side Murder Victim Identified By Coroner
The shooting happened during the overnight hours of Thursday, Oct. 10. Here's what we know.

JOLIET, IL — The Will County Coroner's Office has identified the victim of an east side homicide as Jesse Hannah, a Joliet man. Hannah died at 2:14 a.m. Thursday morning at Silver Cross Hospital from numerous gunshot wounds. The Coroner's office said Hannah was 29 years old. However, both Joliet police and court records indicate that Hannah was 33 years old. It's not clear which age is accurate.
A 19-year-old Joliet man also remains hospitalized in critical condition following the overnight shooting in the Ridgewood area. The gunman got away before Joliet police arrived and remains at large.
Court records show that Hannah had lived on Pontiac Street, which is not far from the shooting.

Joliet police said Thursday's homicide happened near the intersection of Krakar Avenue and Elgin Avenue. Police were called to the scene of the crime at 1:46 a.m. Officers found two people shot.
"Officers were able to locate both of the victims near the intersection. Joliet Fire Department arrived on scene and transported both victims to the hospital. While at the hospital, the 33 year old victim from Joliet unfortunately had succumbed to his injuries. The other victim, a 19 year old male from Joliet, was listed in critical condition," police announced Thursday afternoon.

The Joliet Police Department advised that if "any residence or business has surveillance videos of any suspicious activity between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. on 10/10/19, they are encouraged to contact the Investigation Unit at 815-724-3020. The area of focus is from the area east of Walnut Street to Briggs Street and the area north of Rt. 30 (Lincoln Highway) to Copperfield Avenue. If anyone has any information related to this incident, they are encouraged to contact the Investigation Unit.
